How is the Raw Material Multiple calculated?

The Raw Material Multiple shows how many dollars of Revenue are produced for each dollar of Raw Materials.  It is a critical measure for tracking raw material spending and should drive conversations including:

  • How well are we negotiating with our suppliers?
  • How well are we negotiating with our customers?
  • How focused are we on price increase opportunities?

It is calculated as follows:

  • Total Core (operational) Revenue /  Total Raw Materials
