What is SON Communication?

SON (Strategic Operational Numeric) Communication is a fundamental module in RealTime CEO.  It provides a tool for the leadership team to challenge how the strategic landscape is changing around and ahead of the business. Challenging and documenting the strategic landscape of the business provides the best opportunity to define and adjust operational behaviour to create value, mitigate risk and impact the future numerical outcome.

The most recent set of numbers is actually a determination of how well the business behaved 90 days ago, because actions and decisions made 90 days ago flow into these numbers. To improve the business numbers in 90 days, behaviour has to be changed now, and this can be achieved by following the SON Communication process.

Challenge how the strategic landscape is changing. Then ask how operational behaviour can change to create value or mitigate risk.

SON Communication sets up every element of good leadership.  It sets up the ability to:

  1. be visionary about strategic change
  2. change operational behaviour
  3. interpret current numbers
  4. implement business assumption forecasting.

Each month, before the leadership meeting, update the SON report of the previously finished month using the 8 screens provided. Each screen has tailorable components so you can discuss, record, and track KPI’s and metrics that are relevant to your business.
