Nick Setchell, the Director and founder of Practices Strategies Pty Ltd, is a passionate advocate of the use of powerful financial modeling software and tools in mid-market companies that gives mid-market CEOs the information they need to make better business decisions in real time.

The RealTime CEO offering evolved from Nick’s continuing focus on building world-class financial tools in a format that mid-market CEOs and their executive teams can utilise in their day-to-day business.

Practice Strategies’ Evolution

Practice Strategies provides a range of services to businesses that have a genuine focus on improving their financial performance. Services include RealTime CEO software, RealTime CEO tools and consulting, performance improvement coaching, financial analysis and improvement, and process re-engineering and efficiency management.

Clients range in size from turnover of below $1 million AUD to greater than $1bn AUD. Using the Fiscal Focus framework and the RealTime CEO tools, Practice Strategies has analysed in excess of 1,000 businesses based in Australia, USA, Canada and the UK.

Practice Strategies has conducted in excess of 100 workshops for accounting practices in Australia, training those practices in the fundamentals of business analysis and business advisory services.

Practice Strategies has also conducted hundreds of Vistage workshops along with specialised workshops with senior managers of leading banks in Australia and the USA. These workshops involved coaching key bank staff in performing detailed financial analysis as part of their credit approval process.

The businesses that Practice Strategies works with are not specific to any industry. They do, however, have a common culture that improving their performance is their fundamental objective.

Nick’s Background

Nick Setchell is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow and past State Chairman (SA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia, and a Certified Speaking Professional with the National Speakers Association of Australia.

He has presented numerous seminars on business improvement and has spoken at many business forums, including the Vistage International Convention, ICAA Business Forum, The Executive Connection and The CEO Institute and has consistently received the highest level of audience feedback.

Nick’s career has predominantly been spent in executive positions managing a range of businesses in different industries.
