April 2014 – USA and CSIA

So, it’s April and it is time for another USA trip. Nick has again been invited to present a couple of sessions at the CSIA Conference in San Diego. but before he could go there, he had some Vistage Resource presentations to give. Here are some fun facts about the places Nick is visiting this time round.

Santa Barbara CA –  Though Hollywood and Los Angeles are famous the world over for their associations with both the television and movie industries, during the silent film era the largest movie studio in the world was Flying A Studios located in Santa Barbara.

Salt Lake City UT- Salt Lake City is the epicenter of the fast-foodification of Southern fried chicken, and the only place you can chow down on a KFC chicken buffet while sitting next to one of the colonel’s original white suits.

Seattle WA- Seattle has the largest houseboat population in the country, and ranks second in the world only to Asia.

Omaha NA- Henry Fonda began his career at the Omaha Community Playhouse, the largest in the country, at the urging of Marlon Brando’s mother.
