The first quarter (Q1 2015) usually starts slowly for RealTime CEO as we come back from our summer break in mid January. But come February and it is off for the first overseas trip for the year. USA here we come once more!
This time the trip takes Nick to:
– Cleveland Ohio where The Cuyahoga River, is known as “The River that Caught Fire.” The river has caught fire on thirteen different occasions! How does that happen??
– Stuart, Florida The city of Stuart is known as the Sailfish Capital of the World, because of the many sailfish found in the ocean off Martin County.
– Seattle, Washington which is home to the world’s first gas station. It opened on Holgate St & Western Ave in 1907.
– Eugene Oregon which is the birthplace of Nike….and that makes sense seeing that Eugene is the only U.S. city to host three consecutive U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field (1972, 1976, 1980) (as well as 2008 and 2012). In fact, historic Hayward Field is one of the most famous track and field-only facilities in the world.
– Portland Oregon which was originally home to Matt Groening (The Simpsons creator). Apparently a lot of the Simpson characters are named after streets and spots in Portland. Portland is also home to the tiniest park in the world – Mill Ends Park is only 2.5 feet (76cm) in diameter! Cute – shame there is no grass though…..
So much to get excited about this trip. Hopefully Nick will have some time out of his busy speaking schedule to see some of these sites.
March 2015 sees Nick back in Australia with TEC and client meetings in Melbourne Victoria, Perth Western Australia, Darwin Northern Territory, and of course Adelaide South Australia.
"Our quarterly meetings continually provide us with the financial indicators we need to make the best decisions. The Fiscal Focus analysis provides my team with the information they need to do what is most important to the organization …. make money.
I especially like the “What If” tool because it shows me in real time the effects on ROI for the most critical decisions.
Thank you for helping us through this difficult economy. Without your help and guidance, I do not believe we would be as financially strong as we are."
