June 2014 – Sydney to Perth

This month Nick is on home soil but travelling from one side of Australia to the other!  Sydney to Perth – a distance of 3,301km (or 2051m) as the plane flies,  which for our American friends would be like going from the east coast of Georgia to San Diego, CA!

…and for our European friends, you would have to fly from Turkey to Spain!

Huge, aren’t we??

Did you know that Perth, while being the most isolated capital city in the world, also has the largest inner city park in the world?  Kings Park – it’s even bigger than New York’s Central Park.

I’m sure a lot of you know much more about Sydney, but did you know that after phasing out the Australian 1 and 2 cent coins in 1991, they were melted down and used in the Sydney 2000 Olympics as Bronze Medals?
