As if Nick doesn’t travel enough already with RealTime CEO, Q2 2016 saw him travelling for pleasure with a wonderful European vacation thrown in!
But, you know what they say, business before pleasure…….
Again this quarter was filled with speaking gigs and client visits in Australia and the USA. Here are some fun facts about the places visited this time:
Milwaukee, Wisconsin – in 1867 Christopher Sholes invented the first typewriter
Memphis, Tennessee – there is a parade of ducks into the central fountain of the Peabody Hotel every day (I have first hand knowledge of this as we stayed there a few years back and my son – aged 4, was asked to be the ‘Assistant Duck Master’!)
Houston, Texas – apparently the residents of Houston speak a total of 83 different languages. That is awesome!
West Palm Beach, Florida – The National Croquet Center in West Palm Beach is the world’s largest croquet facility, with four acres of lawns.
Melbourne, Victoria – Melbourne was the capital city of Australia for 26 years between 1901 and 1927 before the capital shifted to Canberra, ACT.
Sydney, New South Wales – After phasing out the Australian 1 and 2 cent coins in 1991, they were melted down and used in the Sydney 2000 Olympics as Bronze Medal. How is that for recycling??
Now onto the pleasure trip! Nick was very lucky to be able to travel (with his wife!) to Europe for a couple of weeks of well earned vacation. He arrived in Lyon, France and took a lazy drive down through the Rhone Valley, staying in Grignon and Uzes sampling the local food and wine (of course). He was also very lucky to have a tour of the Mourchon Winery They then travelled to Barcelona and Palma (on Mallorca), Spain.
"Our quarterly meetings continually provide us with the financial indicators we need to make the best decisions. The Fiscal Focus analysis provides my team with the information they need to do what is most important to the organization …. make money.
I especially like the “What If” tool because it shows me in real time the effects on ROI for the most critical decisions.
Thank you for helping us through this difficult economy. Without your help and guidance, I do not believe we would be as financially strong as we are."
